  • Study on Raw Water Pricing in Metro Manila
A study will be undertaken to come-up with mehtodology for pricing raw water in Metro Manila. Rational in order to create incentives to use water more efficiently and provide basis for efficient allocation. It is also expected to generate revenues for more effective water resource development and management.
  • Preparation of the National IWRM and Water Efficiency Plans
The development of the IWRM and Water Efficiency Plans is the Philippines commitment at the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Johannesburg in 2002. The NWRB, in collaboration with the Philippine Water Partnership was identified as the national focal point in preparation of the the National IWRM and Water Efficiency Plans.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), through the "UNEP Support for Achieving the IWRM 2005 Target," provide assistance to the Philippines to accelerate the formulation of a National IWRM and Water Efficiency Plans.
  • Promoting Effective Water Management Policies and Practices Phase 4
As part of the implementation of recommendations and conclusions of the regional studies carried out on small-scale private water providers, the NWRB in cooperation with the ADB is to undertake a comprehensive survey of households and small scale water providers (SSWP) within the franchise area of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System and its concesionaires, Manila Water Company, Inc. and Maynilad Water Systems, Inc.
The main objective of the project is to determine the profile of SSWPs as well as their customers. With the data gathered from the survey and its results the NWRB will set up a registration system for the existing SSWPs and Homeowner's Associations and will formulate effective water management policies, practice and plans.
